Borders College, Scotland’s top performing college, welcomes the start of regular train services between the Borders and Edinburgh associated with the re-opening of the Waverley line.
This multi million pound investment, creating the longest new domestic line in 100 years in this country, offers a number of exciting opportunities for the College. Key for us will be the improved access to college courses and facilities for the communities living along the train route.
Borders College has a wide range of very high quality courses and returns the highest success rates for students in the country. In addition, we recognise the increased opportunities for our local businesses to take advantage of the flow of customers and tourists which the railway will bring.
The college is well placed to support the further development of these businesses and provide the training, skills and knowledge required to help them flourish and contribute to economic growth across the Scottish Borders region.
