Course Content |
This course allows for the development of Football Skills to a higher level and combines this skills development with a BTEC nationally recognized award at Level 2. This gives the candidate 1 year to concentrate on their football skills development which combines a nationally recognized strength and conditioning programme with specialized football skills coaching which focuses on player position,unit and teamplay. Course units include: The Body in Sport Health & Safety and Injury in Sport Practical Sport Technical Skills and Tactical Awareness Nutrition for Sports Performance Fitness for Sports Performance
Individual Sporting Performance - Football Individual Sporting Performance - Codes of Conduct,Health,Safety and Law (Football) Individual Sporting Performance - Analysis & Evaluation (Football) (Recognised award pending for Football Skills units) Location: Scottish Borders Campus |

Subject to satisfactory interview and references. 3 Standard Grade qualifications at Foundation/General Level are required. Candidates without any formal academic qualifications may be considered on individual merit. |

Progression Opportunities |
Students can progress on to BASE Football 2 BTEC Level 3 National Award at Borders College where candidates will have the opportunity to continue in the Sports Academy and develop further their football playing abilities. Students completing this award are well equipped for a variety of work within the sport and leisure industry. |
