BASE Rugby - Strength and Conditioning Programme

Course Content

NCFE Level 1 Customised Award in Strength and Conditioning

This course gives young Rugby players (14/15 year olds) the opportunity to improve their strength and fitness and as a result improve their performance on the Rugby field. The sessions are supervised by qualified coaches and players will be instructed in the correct techniques of weight training.

Unit 01 Comply with all the Health & Safety factors and correct procedures prior, during and post physical activities.

Unit 02 Participate in training programme highlighting improvement in physical conditioning

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements However player must ensure that parental consent forms are submitted and a player PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) is satisfactorily completed.

Progression Opportunities

Students can progress on to BTEC First Diploma in Sport (Performance) with Rugby Skills Development where candidates will have the opportunity to continue in the Sports Academy and develop further their Rugby playing abilities. Students also have the opportunity to progress on to the BTEC First Diploma in Sport and Exercise.
