EQUIPMENT & RESOURCES
The department has excellent resources. It is stocked with the latest publications in Care, Counselling, Early Education and Childcare and relevant General Education resources, enabling teaching to take account of the latest developments in the field.
INDUSTRIAL LINKS & WORK PLACEMENT
All courses provide practice placement in a variety of health, social care and childcare facilities and organisations across the Borders. These relationships in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors enable us to organise a wide range of work placement opportunities for students. Placements are organised and supported by Placement Officers. Representatives from service organisations are part of the department's Management Committees. The College links across the Borders with a wide range of Health, Social and Childcare Organisations/Employers, including NHS Borders, SBC Social Work Department, SBC Childcare Partnerships, SBC Education and Lifelong Learning Department and many private and voluntary establishments, to provide quality placement and experience.
