The Foundation Apprenticeship will give you the chance to develop the skills and knowledge to enter a career in the construction industry. You will learn about the different construction trades and gain some practical skills in Carpentry & Joinery, Painting & Decorating, and Brickwork or Roofing. This course is delivered by time served trades people and provides trade expertise in classroom and workshop activities. The course provides employer engagment and encourages the student to find a suitable work placement.
Delivery
Typically, the course will run on Fridays for a period of 27 weeks. 10am - 2.30pm

Demonstrate an interest in this area and a good attendance record at school.
Progression opportunities
There are a number of career pathways that the Construction FA can lead to including: Bricklayer, Joiner, Painter and Decorator, Labourer, General Building Operative.
Modern Apprenticeship inBrickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating.
HE HNC/HND in Construction or Construction Management.
GA Construction and the Built Environment.
