Modern Apprenticeship Boat Building & Repair - (SCQF Level 6)
The Modern Apprenticeship in Boat Building & Repair is an exciting Modern Apprenticeship opportunity being offered in partnership with Eyemouth Marine who have a renowned reputation for maintenance of fishing and commercial fleets of the North Sea.
Qualifications
The course comprises of 4 mandatory units and 7 optional units. The units cover the following areas: Complying with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements, Using and Interpreting Engineering Data and Documentation, Working Efficiently and Effectively in Engineering and also Slinging, Lifting and Moving Materials, Machinery and Components in a Marine Environment. 7 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place. To achieve the Modern Apprenticeship candidates must also achieve 5 core skills at SCQF Level 5 in Communication, Working with Others, Problem Solving, ICT & Numeracy.
Delivery
At your workplace with blended learning (some online and some with the assessor visiting) - our Borders College Assessor will guide you every step of the way, visiting regularly and providing personalised tutoring and support. College premises in the Borders and other venues are often used for meeting up, or to access computer and library facilities. Start dates are all year round. We work with people individually therefore start dates are negotiable.
