SVQ Fabrication and Welding Engineering @ SCQF Level 6

Delivery

Our Borders College Assessor will guide you every step of the way, visiting regularly and providing personalised tutoring and support. Assessors will carry out observations on site. Learners will also provide product evidence, witness testimony, reflective accounts and photo/video evidence as they work through their SVQ. Candidates will have up to 12 months to complete their qualification. We work with people individually therefore start dates are negotiable.

Candidates must be employed and working in a suitable environment to be able to provide evidence of their competence in the workplace.

Course Content

The course comprises of 3 mandatory units and 5 optional units.

The mandatory units cover the following areas:

  • Complying with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Requirements.
  • Using and Interpreting Engineering Data and Documentation.
  • Working Efficiently and Effectively in Engineering

5 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the workplace. These can include marking out components for metalwork, cutting materials using saws and abrasive discs, producing platework assemblies and producing fillet welded joints using a manual welding process.
