Progression Opportunities
Borders College has extensive articulation routes with universities across the country. Articulation means progression from one course to another and is usually used when referring to progression routes from college to a degree at university.
Lita McHale is the Articulation Support Adviser at Borders College and is based in the Student Advice Centre. Lita is responsible for informing and supporting students at critical stages of the articulation process and works closely with course tutors and Karen Turton the Careers Adviser.
You can make an appointment to see Lita at the Advice Centre either by popping in or phoning the Advice Centre on: 01896 662516, alternatively you can email Lita:

The Open University and Borders College
Borders College is working with The Open University in Scotland (OU) to create flexible opportunities for students who wish to progress on a part‑time basis from their Higher National study to a degree.
The Open University's BA or BSc (Open) degree allows students to choose from a wide range of OU modules tailored to their personal and vocational needs. This allows students to either build on the subject areas studied in college or provides the flexibility to develop skills and knowledge in other subject areas.
Students with an HND can count up to 240 points of credit transfer towards the OU's 360 point BA/BSc (Open) with Honours. Similarly, a student with an HNC can count between 95 and 120 points of credit transfer towards the 300 point BA/BSc (Open) or the 360 point BA/BSc (Open) with Honours. Honours degrees in named subjects are also available and further information on credit transfer is available on request.'
Progression to the OU's Open degree is available for all HNC and HND courses.
