Equal Pay Statement
Equal Pay Policy Statement
1. Borders College promotes and adheres to the principle of equal opportunities in employment and undertakes to operate a pay system which is transparent, based on objective criteria free from gender bias.
2. The college is committed to working with existing recognised trade unions and non-union staff representatives to take action to ensure that we identify and eliminate any gender related pay inequalities.
In the course of the next three years, we will:
• Implement an equal pay review in line with the EOC guidance for all current staff and starting pay for new staff
• Plan and implement actions in partnership with recognised trade unions/non-union representatives
• Ensure those involved in determining pay are adequately trained
• Ensure transparency by informing employees of the process for determining their own pay
• Deal with any grievances on equal pay as a priority
• Work with recognised trade unions/non-union representatives to monitor pay statistics annually
