Course Introduction

The Year 1 award includes: Food Manufacturing units: Fundamentals of Food Science, Food Production, Commercial and Social Drivers & Sustainability. The Year 2 programme will cover some of the following units of Working Relationships, Develop a new Product in a Food Business, Interpret & Communicate, Information Data in Food and Drink Operators and Promote and Support Creative Thinking in a Food Business.

Foundation Apprenticeship in Food & Drink Technologies at SCQF Level 6

Duration - Part Time 72 week course over 2 x Academic Years

Entry Requirements

Pupils need to be ready to work at SCQF Level 6 (the same as a higher). You will need to have:
• A good level of written and spoken english
• A good level of numeracy
• An interest in working in the food & drink industries
• Motivated to succeed within industry
• A willingness to work with due regard to food safety and health & safety
• Communication and team working skills
