Borders College students make an exhibition of themselves
Staff and students from the graphic design and art and design courses at Borders College are busily preparing for their highly anticipated end of year exhibition which showcases the creative work of the students.
It’s an opportunity, sometimes their first, for the students to present their work to family, friends, businesses and the wider community. Everyone is welcome, and the work on display will range from graphic design branding to installation art. There will also be the opportunity for visitors to talk to the students and staff.
Lecturer in graphic design, John McNeill, said:
“The exhibition is the culmination of a year’s hard work and it’s always exciting to see the range of talent studying at Borders College. We hope that creative businesses in the Borders will come along and have a look and give us their feedback.”
Hawick Art Club will once again be presenting their annual prize for the work they consider to be outstanding.
Art and design lecturer Siobhan O’Hehir commented that:
“The Hawick annual prize has been an important stepping stone for many previous winners who have progressed onto university then flourished in their creative careers, and it always creates a sense of excitement.”
The exhibition will be open for public view between 10.00am – 4.00pm from Tuesday 5th June until Friday 8th June at Borders College, Nether Road, Galashiels (TD1 3HE).
