Distillery visit for catering students
Students from Catering and Hospitality programmes at Borders College recently enjoyed a field trip to a Tranent whisky distillery, enhancing their knowledge of alcoholic beverages.

The levels 2 and 3 students were accompanied by lecturer Fiona Nichol to Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery where they were given a guided tour, looking at all processes involved in distilling whisky from the raw materials through to the finished product.
The tour culminated in a tasting of 2 of Glenkinchie’s whiskies.
The knowledge the students gained on their visit will help them to complete their ‘Alcoholic Beverages: an Introduction’ unit, a required part of their training.
