Fellows and board members reconnect over dinner
Honorary Fellows of Borders College recently joined the College Principal and Governors in the College’s award winning restaurant to discuss the future ambition of the College.

Principal Angela Cox told guests:
“The College is ambitious to be a leader of the Further Education sector in the future educational landscape, whether that is embracing the technological advances available to us, making Higher Education more accessible in the Borders, or growing our work-based offer through apprenticeships and more flexible delivery approaches. The College has an accomplished track record in delivering excellent learning opportunities and aims to continue this across all our communities.”
Borders College, like all of Scotland’s Colleges, is fortunate to be guided by a government approved Board of Management, which allows Board members to contribute to the direction the College takes in terms of the ‘educational landscape’, as mentioned by Angela Cox. Their valued input ensures that Borders College remains on track to fulfilling the ever-growing demands of a modern day college.
Annually the College awards an honorary fellowship to a member of the community who, like the College, has contributed to the Scottish Borders in some way. This could be through business, sport, education, retail or voluntary work. Just like the Board members, this esteemed group of individuals is able to make a further positive contribution to the role that the College plays in providing lifelong learning throughout the Borders.
This recent dinner provided an opportunity for guests to reconnect, as well as discuss and explore opportunities for their continued involvement in the College’s activities. Levels 2 and 3 Catering and Hospitality students prepared and served the meal, showcasing their exemplary skills.
