Training and development is no fringe event in Edinburgh
Whilst thousands visit the capital to participate in the ‘Fringe’, those with an interest in training and development attended a different type of event hosted by the Business Development team of Borders College, at the Centre for Business Development in Edinburgh on Friday past.
Representatives from companies across the city and surrounding locations went along to find out about the training opportunities, that companies can offer their employees by working with the training and development arm of Borders College, which has a training centre based in Edinburgh.
Offering training in such areas as Business and Administration, Childcare, Customer Service, Health and Social Care and Management, Borders College Business Development runs its courses throughout the United Kingdom at a time and place to suit the needs of employers.
Commenting on Friday’s event Deirdre McKendry, Head of Business Development at Borders College, commented: “We wanted to give our contacts the opportunity to explore our current provisions and share with us their requirements for the future in order that we can respond to their training needs, as well as informing employers about the various funding options which might be available.”
There were many positive comments from the day, such as:
“I met with key people that gave me a better understanding of what Borders College are doing and how we can tap into resources. The staff were very informative and helpful.”
“Lots of ideas to think about, huge variety on offer. Good to learn about funding options available that I wasn’t aware of. Possibility of both staff and services gaining from BC which would be good.”
