Borders College

Cleaning qualifications at SCQF level 5 – New for 2021

Do you want to study for a recognised qualification in cleaning and take your cleaning skills to the next level?

Borders College is currently looking to establish a cohort of students, with a potential start date of January 2021, subject to approval, for these new and exciting qualifications certificated through The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS).

You can choose to study on the Elementary Cleaning and Disinfection and/or Elementary Infection, Prevention and Control courses.

The courses are aimed at those who are already employed or self-employed and looking to obtain a formal qualification.

The courses will be run entirely online, with no attendance at College required, and is, therefore, suitable for any student who is employed, anywhere in Scotland.

These REHIS courses provide learners with a qualification that demonstrates knowledge, and understanding of competence in cleaning.

Learners can progress to Modern Apprenticeship (MA) in Facilities Services at Level 2 or SVQ Cleaning and Support Services Level 4 and 5.

These short course interventions are delivered online over two sessions of 3.5 hours duration and are suitable for:

  • Individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification
  • Employers who wish their employees to obtain short, continuing professional development courses

Both the courses could provide progression to:

  • MA in Facilities Services at Level 2
  • SVQ Cleaning and Support Services at Level 4
  • SVQ Cleaning and Support Services at Level 5

Funding may be available to support the cost of the courses – it’s all about who you are and where you are. Why not get in touch to see how we can help?
