College Enterprise Fair

Last Monday, 23rd January, saw the large lecture theatre at the Scottish Borders Campus transformed into a buzz of activity and bright ideas with our Enterprise Fair taking place.

We had 10 representatives from local businesses and organisations including Bosco Santimano, Stobo Castle, Scotland’s Colleges, The Social Enterprise Academy, PSYBT and Business Gateway and Generate Radio who were broadcasting live from the College. We also had Beki Scott from Kids Bee Happy and Jamie McDonald from Montpellier’s in Edinburgh who added an interactive experience for the students with sand art and Mocktails respectively.

Through the day we had students from every curriculum area paying a visit to the fair and each group dived straight in, needing little or no encouragement to mingle with the visitors and it was great to see every stand thronged with students.

The fair was a great success and hopefully the students were able to take away some really positive and encouraging thoughts and ideas.

Student Enterprise Intern Peter Wade commented; “The event went just as we had hoped, and was a real success, the help received from college staff in the organisation of this event and the contribution of those who attended is much appreciated.”
