Courses Update - March 2017

Borders College has some news announcements to make regarding courses and the application deadline.


We are delighted to announce three brand new full-time courses being offered in our 2017/18 session;

Business, Administration and Tourism (Access)

This course is an introductory course for students who have limited Business, Administration and IT skills and would like to build up their confidence in these areas. Students work towards units such as Word Processing, IT for Administrators, Administrative Services, Business Decision Areas, Multimedia Applications, Employability Award, Communications, Numeracy and Digital Photography.

Hockey Level 6

This programme allows students to gain a suite of qualifications at SCQF Level 6 whilst developing their Hockey skills, including NPA Achieving Excellence in Sport and SQA units in Psychology, Circuit Training, and Planning Personal Fitness. The Hockey programme is designed to allow for individual development in a structure to support those wishing to progress towards top level Hockey, along with academic study and essential career management skills.

Fabrication and Welding Engineering NC

This full time course is designed for people interested in entering a career in engineering. The course contains a selection of SQA national qualifications covering fabrication and welding processes, engineering materials, manual arc welding, metal inert gas welding, tungsten inert gas welding and graphical Engineering Communication. There are also units in Maths and Communication to support you in the course and to help prepare you for employment.

Borders College has extended the ‘guaranteed interview deadline’ to Friday 31st March.  Anyone applying for a course by this date will be guaranteed an interview.  Interviews will take place before the end of May 2017.
