Stuart wins £100 bet from Programme Leader

Stuart wins £100 bet from Programme Leader

When Scotland Cap Stuart Hogg was a student on the Borders College - Borders Academy of Sporting Excellence (BASE) Rugby course – Programme Leader Richie Gray bet him £100 that he would be capped before he was 21. And the rest is History.

Stuart collected his winnings from Richie at the Scottish Borders Campus and immediately donated them to Bill McLaren Foundation.

Stuart says “I had a great time as a student at Borders College and taking £100 from Richie is the icing on the cake. A Hawick man parting £100 from a Gala man is always a great event! I am delighted to donate it to the Bill McLaren Foundation and would like to thank the college and everyone who has been supporting me and sending messages of congratulations”.

Richie said “I always knew that Stuart had great potential and am delighted at losing my bet now that Stuart is our first capped BASE Rugby student”.
