Students do 'Wella' in national XPosure competition

Borders College Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing students have been working hard over the last few weeks to create a total look for the Wella XPosure competition. Each student had to create a cut, colour and finish on their model.

The first heat of the competition was held within The Salon at Borders College where the students had to style and finish the model’s hair within 1 hour (the students had coloured the hair previously). Photographs were then taken of the finished styles.

Not all the students could go forward to the next stage so unfortunately staff had to make the tough decision as to the final five styles to be submitted to Wella.

“This was a very hard decision as the finished styles were all of a high standard, I feel that all students worked very hard on their looks, they were very creative and motivated so a very big well done to all” said Wendy McCutcheon, Hairdressing Lecturer at Borders College.

The final five were Kirsty Fojcik level 2 hairdressing, Lisa Donaldson – Level 2 hairdressing, Mario Taddei – level 3 hairdressing, Danielle Fraser – level 3 hairdressing and Stacey Scott – level 3 hairdressing.

Wella then judged all entrants from colleges throughout Scotland and the great news is that Kirsty, Mario, Lisa & Danielle have all been selected to go forward to the Regional Heat which will take place in Glasgow on Wednesday 7th March. We wish them well.
