Torch visits Hawick Campus
The Hawick Torch, created and donated by local jeweller Hamish Smith is part of the town’s Year of Sport, an initiative to promote sport and comradeship amongst young people in the town.
The torch is being passed around every school in the Teviot and Liddesdale area and school pupils are visiting other community groups within these areas with the torch. It was the turn of Hawick High School pupils to visit Borders College recently, showing their support for the Year of Sport within the community.
The torch featured in an opening ceremony, involving more than 2,000 pupils recently.
