As soon as you enrol at Borders College you are automatically a member of your Library service. Our friendly staff will take care of the paperwork for you so there are no fiddly forms for you to fill in!

Campus Library

This means you have free, instant access to hundreds of thousands of printed books and thousands of e-books and online articles that will help you with your studies.

Our aim is to make as many of our learning resources and services available to you online so you can study anywhere, anytime and from any device. You can easily access the Library’s online services by going to the College website, clicking on Current Students and selecting “Library Service”.

You may need to borrow print items such as books and magazines. The Campus Library at the Scottish Borders Campus has over 30,000 items for you to borrow and our link with Heriot-Watt University gives you access to thousands more. You can borrow up to 30 items for sixteen weeks at a time. But be careful! Your Library Service will charge you fines if you don’t return your books on time or get in touch with the library to renew them. The Library will send a reminder to your College email address to remind you when your books are due. We will also email you if another customer needs the items you have, so it is important that you check your College email regularly and keep in touch with the library. If you don’t return your items, the College will invoice you for the cost of replacing them.

The Campus Library offers you a comfortable space for studying. We have over 80 PCs including 6 iMacs, over 100 individual study spaces and bookable rooms for group study. There is Wi-Fi in the Campus Library and plenty of charging points, so feel free to bring in your phone, tablet or laptop.

Our friendly and helpful team are looking forward to welcoming you to the library service and helping you throughout the year. Remember, all College students can use the library service regardless of where and how you are studying. To find out more or for help on getting started with your studies please contact the team:

Both Libraries are fully accessible to students with disabilities.  If you need assistance in getting to the Libraries, please contact staff at reception.
