Borders College, in partnership with Scottish Borders Community and Development, offers English classes for adults living in the Scottish Borders for whom English is not the first language.You can study at a range of levels, from beginners through to SCQF Level 5.

Before you start the course you will be invited to an online assessment where you will work with a trained tutor to decide what level of English is best for you.Once you have been assessed you will receive an invitation when your class is due to start. You may have to wait for an assessment or for a suitable class to start

Course Content

Learners will be given the opportunity to study one of two units:ESOL for Everyday Life: The general aim of this unit is to develop the language skills needed for everyday life infamiliar personal, social and transactional contexts for learners whose first language isnot English.
