Modern Apprenticeship Food and Beverage Service - (SCQF Level 5)
The Modern Apprenticeship in Food and Beverage Service is a work based qualification delivered by direct observation and the production of a portfolio of evidence. Candidates are assigned an assessor who will support them through the delivery of this Modern Apprenticeship.
The course comprises of 4 mandatory units and 6 optional units. The units cover the following areas: Maintain Health and Safety in Hospitality, Work Effectively as Part of a Hospitality Team, Impact of Personal Behaviour in Hospitality and also Maintain Food Safety in a Hospitality Environment. 6 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place.To achieve the Modern Apprenticeship candidates must also achieve 4 core skills at SCQF Level 4 in Communication, Working with Others, Problem Solving & Numeracy and 1 core skill at SCQF Level 3 in ICT.
At your workplace - our Borders College Assessor will guide you every step of the way, visiting regularly and providing personalised tutoring and support. College premises in Borders & Edinburgh and other venues are often used for meeting up, or to access computer and library facilities. Start dates are all year round. We work with people individually therefore start dates are negotiable.
Candidates must be employed and working in a suitable environment to be able to provide evidence of their competence in the workplace.
