These qualifications cover areas such as initiating, building and maintaining purposeful relationships with young people and assisting them to express and realise their goals. They also include planning, preparing and facilitating activities with young people, and working with young people to safeguard their own welfare.This SVQ is suitable for:Learners who may have just left school.Individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification.Employees who wish to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) courses.

Qualifications

Youth Work at SCQF 5 4 mandatory and 2 optional units.

Delivery

At your workplace an assessor will visit regularly and provide personalised guidance and support. Assessors and Candidates may also use our Borders College sites for meetings, or to use computer and library facilities.

Entry requirements

Students must be employed and carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence. No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although experience in/knowledge of subject would be an advantage.
