The course comprises 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units. The mandatory units cover: lead practice for health and safety in the work setting; protection and well-being of individuals; continuous professional development of yourself and others; lead practice for the safe guarding of children and young people. 4 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place. To achieve the Modern Apprenticeship candidates must also achieve a threshold of 15 SCQF credits for Technical Apprenticeships.


At your workplace - our Borders College Assessor will guide you every step of the way, visiting regularly and providing personalised tutoring and support. Start dates are all year round. We work with people individually therefore start dates are negotiable.
