This course has been designed to prepare students for possible progression to a Business degree course at University, and ultimately for a career in Business, enabling students to embrace the challenges presented in a business environment. Full-time study, developing skills in business analysis, research and tackling complex business issues are just some of the areas that candidates can immerse themselves in throughout this course.Students may also seek employment following successful completion of the HND programme. A wide range of subjects are studied including Marketing, Management, Business Law, HR, Accounting and Economics. Essential employability skills and entrepreneurship are included in units such as Developing Entrepreneurial Skills.Undertaking work placement, with support from the college, will allow candidates to apply their skills in the workplace and enhance their opportunities of long term employment.

Upon successful completion, candidates will achieve the following awards;
- HND Business at SCQF Level 8
Delivery
The course is full-time with delivery on campus over three days, for 36 weeks (Year 2). There will be some hybrid learning opportunities and this will be flexible throughout the delivery.

Entry requirements
Applicants should have successfully completed all the units in HND Business Year 1 to continue onto Year 2 at Borders College.

Applications will be reviewed by the curriculum team and candidates will be invited to interview to follow up on the information contained within to confirm suitability. A full, detailed personal statement is important at this stage. Candidates are provided with the opportunity to ask further questions about the course and college support services at the interviews.
