This is an intermediate course in creative writing. The course will aid participants to improve their craft and expand their creative writing abilities. It will look at timing and pacing, symbolism and emotion and will work to expand participants creativity and expression.

Course Content

The course works over several weeks comprising teaching, discussion and both class-basedand home-based exercises complemented by substantial notes.

Weekly writing tasks will challenge participants to expand their writing taking the teaching topics into new and exciting forms in their work. Participants will receive extensive teaching materials, including writing prompts and recommended reading. Participants will also receive critiques of their work to help expand and improve their writing skills.

The course will finish with an opportunity for participants to give a reading of their final work to the entire class and advice as to how to take their writing forward.

This course is recommended for anyone who has some experience of creative writing but wishes to develop their craft further. It is useful to have undertaken a beginners creative writers course but more important that you enjoy the craft of writing and wish to expand that skill.
