Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling This qualification provides certified competence for technicians working with mobile air conditioning systems. It covers F-Gas regulations, safe refrigerant handling, system operation, leak detection, and correct use of recovery equipment. Learners complete theory and a practical assessment to gain the mandatory licence to practise.
Delivery
Delivery will take place in the motor vehicle workshops at Scottish Borders Campus over 2 days.
Location
Entry requirements
Learners should already be practising in the automotive industry and have a good working knowledge of mobile air-conditioning systems and servicing equipment.
Course Content
Learners study F-Gas regulations, environmental responsibilities, refrigerant types, system operation, leak detection, and safe handling procedures. The course also includes the correct use of recovery and charging equipment, record-keeping requirements, and health and safety legislation.
