This introductory course is designed for individuals with little or no prior experience in tractor operation who want to build confidence and practical skills in a safe, supportive environment. Delivered by experienced instructors, the course combines hands-on training with clear demonstrations to ensure learners develop both competence and awareness of health and safety requirements. By the end of the programme, attendees will be able to carry out everyday tractor tasks with confidence and an understanding of best practice.

Course Content

This is an intergrated training course. You will receive a Borders College Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course. You will be guided through the theory behind tractor driving with key sessions on health and safety issues. You will also receive hands on experience behind the wheel of a tractor. Basic operations and manoeuvring will be covered as will using attachments, trailors and the power take-off (PTO) shaft.
