Digital Support for Schools in the South of Scotland
As part of the Scottish Funding Council’s (SFC) Digital Pathfinder Borders College (BC) and Dumfries & Galloway College (DGC), in collaboration with Developing the Young Workforce and Skills Development Scotland have developed an overview of their digital offer for schools across the South of Scotland.
This offer includes digital courses, digital-related events and digital resources.
Digital courses
At Borders College we offer the following digital courses for schools:
- Cyber Security - Schools Academy (NPA - SCQF Level 5)
- Cyber Security - Schools Academy (NPAs - SCQF Level 6)
- Esports - Schools Academy (NPA - SCQF Level 5)
- Esports and Digital Skills (NPAs - SCQF Level 5)
- Computing (NC -SCQF Level 6)
- Computing: Software Development Year 1 (HNC/D - SCQF Level 7/8)
- Computing: Software Development Year 2 (HND - SCQF Level 8)
- Cyber Security (HNC - SCQF Level 7)

‘Meet the Learner’ online events
The Digital Pathfinder developed the ‘Meet the Learner’ programme; a series of online events in which learners at school, college and university discussed their learning journeys in tech and their aspirations for the future.
These events showcase young people talking about their courses in the following areas:
National 5 and Highers in Computing; HNC and HND in Computing and Cyber Security and undergraduate degrees in Computing and Cyber Security.

My World of Work Live
My World of Work Live is a programme of fun, interactive activities that help young people understand possible future careers. Aimed at pupils in P5 to S6 across Scotland, activities are designed and delivered by experts with a passion for education and learning. Using the latest technology, the activities help young people identify their own skills and learn about the world of work, the key sectors and what jobs Scotland will need in the future.
The following activities have a focus on digital:

- Code Art
- Game Design Series
- Here We Code Again
