We are delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievement of Gillian McMillian, who has successfully completed her SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, ahead of schedule and to an exceptionally high standard.

Gillian’s achievement is made even more inspiring by the journey behind it. While working full-time as a Care Manager at Bright Care, Gillian balanced the demands of her studies alongside significant personal and health challenges following a recent diagnosis. Despite these challenges, she remained positive, motivated and committed to achieving her goal.

Reflecting on her achievement, Gillian said:

“Completing my SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care has been a beneficial learning experience that has helped me grow both personally and professionally as a Care Manager. Working towards this qualification also provided a positive focus during a particularly challenging time in my personal life following a recent health diagnosis. It kept me motivated and busy, reminding me of the importance of resilience, reflection and continuing to achieve my goals despite health challenges.”

Gillian also highlighted the importance of the support she received from those around her:

“I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to my colleagues at Bright Care, whose encouragement, understanding and support have been invaluable throughout this journey. Their kindness and teamwork helped me stay focused and motivated. I am equally grateful to my SVQ assessor for their patience, guidance and feedback throughout.”

Gillian’s Tutor/Assessor, Lyn Riley, said:

“Being Gillian’s assessor has been a great privilege, and being part of her SVQ journey has been very rewarding and inspirational. Congratulations, Gillian. You should be extremely proud of yourself. You are a great role model to the clients and the team you work alongside and support.”

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Gillian’s achievement and recognise the dedication she has shown throughout her SVQ journey.
