The College is pleased to acknowledge the generous support of Glidevale Protect, who recently donated specialist construction membrane materials to enhance hands‑on learning within the College’s Applied Construction and Engineering department.
Glidevale Protect, a leading UK manufacturer of building envelope solutions including construction membranes and ventilation products, reached out to offer students access to reflective Protect VC Foil Ultra membrane. The material is widely used across Scotland’s timber frame construction sector.
The donation will directly benefit learners on carpentry, joinery, and retrofit‑focused programmes, giving them hands-on experience with contemporary ecological building materials currently used across industry. This aligns closely with the College’s ongoing commitment to preparing apprentices and students for the future of low‑carbon and energy‑efficient construction.
Borders College extends its thanks to John Mellor and the Glidevale Protect team for their continued partnership and support in helping develop the next generation of construction professionals.
