Good Friday and great news for sports student Corey

Corey Tait

Borders College is delighted to announce that 18-year-old Corey Tait, from Hawick, has been signed to play for the Boroughmuir Bears (Edinburgh).

And ‘Hooker’ Corey, who has previously played for Hawick RFC, is in great company as he joins his older brother Rhys on the pitch tonight at Millbrae in the FOSROC Super6 Sprint series. Rhys is a familiar face in the world of rugby as he captained Scotland Under 20 team in this year’s Six Nations.

Commenting on the Sports Coaching and Development HNC course that he is studying, Corey said:

“My college course allowed me to study rugby more closely and gain an in-depth knowledge which has enhanced my understanding of the game in terms of strength and conditioning, fitness, sports analysis, nutrition and psychology.”

Corey’s profile on the Bear’s website states that his favourite food is steak and chips, whilst his favourite all-time rugby player is Ardie Savea.

We wish Corey all the very best tonight and, of course, in his rugby career at Boroughmuir Bears.
