Leisure floristry course blooms into a resounding success

Students who attended the new beginner’s floristry course, at the Borders College Hawick Campus, have hailed it as a great success.

The course, aimed at those who wanted to gain a greater understanding of flowers and foliage whilst also learning floral design techniques, saw 9 students successfully complete the evening course.

Course tutor, Gillian Patterson, commented:

“Working as a team and supporting each other, the students were able to take home some lovely arrangements which they had created each week using the new skills they had learned.”

Attending a leisure course at a college can offer more than just the opportunity to pursue a hobby or interest; it can enrich your social life, enhance your personal development, and provide a platform for building social relationships.

The next 6-week course will start in April 2024 and will once again be a practical and social occasion for folk to learn new skills whilst having a great night out each week.
