Borders College Department of Enterprise & Business Innovation (DEBI) recently held a celebration event for the Skills Boost Care and Skills Boost Electronics & Engineering courses.

Students attended the eight-week course comprising of employability, certificated courses and employer engagement.

The DEBI Team would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved with this training, including the DWP, employers and trainers.

Fiona Turnbull, Account Manager Contracts, Procurement and Employability, said:

“This course gave the students the opportunity to improve their employability skills and gain qualifications to enhance their CVs.”

Ross Docherty, Assessor and Development Officer, said:

“The EF certificate presentation was a great way to end the successful course. All students who attended the event have developed a strong bond which they say helped them through the course, as well as being recognised with a certificate of employability.”

Student Maya Wasik commented:

“It’s been a difficult time for me, but with the course tutor’s help, I managed to make my dream come true. It was good to meet a group of nice people, even to develop a friendship with some of them.”
