Coaching and Developing Sport HNC/D

An ever-increasing workforce of skilled professionals is needed to help sports people reach their full potential.

Borders College has strong links within the community while also having a partnership with Live Borders Active Communities Team and Scottish Rugby Union to support volunteering and coaching opportunities in the area.

Through a blended learning approach as well as at least 3 hours per week spent on placement with a SRU Development Officer or Live Borders Active Schools Coordinator/Sports Development Officer.

You will learn how to deliver sports coaching, strength and conditioning, fitness testing, analysis of teams and individuals, nutrition, psychology and sports development projects.

At the same time gain experience of allowing young sports people to thrive and develop in their chosen area.
